Abstract: The Gupta period (circa 320-550 CE) is often regarded as a golden age in Indian history, marked by significant achievements in art, science, and culture. This paper explores the status of women during this period, examining their roles, rights, and societal expectations. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, including historical texts, literary sources, and archaeological findings, this research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of women's lives in Gupta society.
