Abstract:
Women empowerment is central to building an inclusive and just society. While equality ensures that women receive the same opportunities as men, equity addresses the diverse challenges and circumstances women face. Among the key drivers of empowerment are self-confidence, self-respect, respect for others, financial independence, boldness, honesty, ethical living, continuous self-improvement, nurturing love (Anbu), helping others, and lifelong learning. These elements collectively enable women to overcome societal barriers, make principled decisions, and achieve personal and professional growth. This article emphasizes that true empowerment requires both equality and equity, complemented by psychological, ethical, social, and economic pillars. Recommendations are provided for integrating self-development programs, financial literacy initiatives, and value-based education to promote holistic women’s empowerment in India.
