Abstract: Electra complex is a term coined by Sigmund Freud to denote the opposite of Oedipus complex. It shows an infatuation of a daughter towards her father. It is not easy to over look this aspect in Sylvia Plath’s poetry, though many critics have blown this out of proportion. Poems like “Daddy”, “Cut” and “Fever” can be examined from the delicate influences of “Love-hate” relationship from a sensitive, feminine poet.
