Abstract:
Electra complex is a term coined by Sigmund Freud to denote the opposite of Oedipus complex. It shows an infatuation of a daughter towards her father. It is not easy to over look this aspect in Sylvia Plath’s poetry, though many critics have blown this out of proportion. Poems like “Daddyâ€, “Cut†and “Fever†can be examined from the delicate influences of “Love-hate†relationship from a sensitive, feminine poet.
