Abstract: This study conducts a comparative analysis of the translator styles in Lin Yutang’s and Luo Jingguo’s English translations of The Peach Colony (Taohuayuan Ji) using a self-built parallel corpus. By employing both qualitative and quantitative methods, the research examines linguistic features at lexical, syntactic, and textual levels, including vocabulary richness, sentence complexity, and readability. Results reveal distinct stylistic tendencies: Lin’s translation favors conciseness and fluency, characterized by simpler vocabulary and compound structures, whereas Luo’s version emphasizes explicitness and academic rigor, with a higher frequency of nouns and adjectives The study highlights the impact of translators’ choices on cross-cultural communication and offers insights for classical Chinese literature translation.
